I'm Karen and I am the Barking Mad representative for South Bucks.
My previous life has included working as a Croupier in central London, 10 years with BAA at Heathrow airport and most recently 4 years as "Manager South" with a company that provided a range of security related services and training to customers such as airports/ports and the Houses of Parliament.
I have always been an animal lover and grew up with cats. I have previously owned a beautiful long haired German Shepherd and regularly look after a friends Springer Spaniel. He told me about Barking Mad and I was immediately impressed with the idea, so when the opportunity to run a Barking Mad franchise came up it was too good to miss. I am delighted and proud to be part of a business that provides a first class service.
My aim is to ensure that each dog is treated so well and loved so much by their host that they will want to return again and again for future holidays. Knowing that a cherished pet is being well cared for means that the owner has one less thing to worry about.
I realise how hard it is for many dog owners to entrust their family member to someone that they don't know and I appreciate the difficulty that some people go through. Many of my customers felt the same at first. Now they won't go anywhere else for their canine carers. Please don’t hesitate to call if you want to find out more.
I think I have found my dream job and look forward to hearing from owners who want their dog to have a happy time while they're away, and potential hosts who would love to care for someone's treasured companion (or two).
Hello, my name is Carole Chester and I am proud to be part of the Barking Mad team covering the Amersham and Chesham area.
I live in the village of Bovingdon, Hertfordshire, with my husband, two daughters, our loveable lurcher Frankie, and two guinea pigs, Storm and Snowbell.
Prior to becoming a Barking Mad franchisee I had various jobs. From becoming a draughtsperson working on a drawing board, I moved on to become a design engineer for the Defence Industry using mechanical design computing packages. After having my two daughters, I worked at the local primary school.
We discovered Barking Mad nearly five years ago in the school playground, after which we became a host family. Since then, we have not looked back and have thoroughly enjoyed looking after dogs of all shapes and sizes.
I am very excited about the service I can offer, providing a superb alternative to kennels and combining my love for dogs and working with people.
If you want to know more about becoming a host family or using the excellent service for your dogs then please call me or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you.
Hello, my name is Tracey Pearce and I run a Barking Mad business in the areas in and around Aylesbury and Hemel Hempstead.
I am married to Steve, have a teenage son, Tom and a bouncy Large Munsterlander called Bailey.
Before joining Barking Mad, I spent 8 memorable years working for South Central Ambulance Service. This was a great privilege and gave me the opportunity of learning invaluable skills and meeting a huge variety of people. However, working 12 hour shifts both day and night started to take their toll (actually, I think it’s just my age!).
I discovered Barking Mad when I was looking for a place for Bailey to stay, whilst Steve and I got married and enjoyed our honeymoon. Bailey was only a year old, and we were both unhappy at the thought of leaving him alone at the local kennels. Whilst phoning around other pet care services to find an alternative, Barking Mad were recommended to us. We were immediately hooked on the idea of Bailey having a holiday in the home of a Barking Mad host whilst we were away. Bailey had a fantastic time, receiving constant attention and very long walks every day... and this was all down to the perfect matching of dog-to-host, by Barking Mad.
When the opportunity to join Barking Mad arose I leapt at the chance to become part of such a wonderful organisation and provide fellow doggy owners the chance to experience the same great service that we have enjoyed ourselves.
If you would like to know more about Barking Mad, either to give your dog a holiday or to become one of our caring Host families, please give me a call or send me an email.
I look forward to hearing from you.

So what is doggy day care?
Traditionally doggy day care is offered by people as a part-time job to work around their lifestyle. So your dog will be in a persons home all day and walked maybe once or twice, whilst the carer carries on their every day life, popping out for some shopping or lunch or the school run. We believe your dogs should get better care than that, and you should get better value for money, so here at Claires Comfy Canines we take your dogs care so seriously that we have now invested in a brand new purpose designed facility.
So we offer something very different and unique, "All day play and supervision", this means your dog will be supervised and cared for all day, from the minute they arrive until home time so we can tend to his or her every need. Whether your pet requires extra stimulation, socialising or just wants to relax in a "Comfy Bed" or lay in the sunshine, we have it all at our "Specially designed and built 100% safe and secure" day care facility. And still we offer all this at competitive and affordable prices.
We believe in ensuring your dogs total safety, so whilst in day care they will have hours of fun in our 2 acres of "pooch paddocks" which are fully enclosed and fenced in and filled with games.
Based in Burnham, our new facility is located within easy reach of Beaconsfield, Seer Green, Wooburn Green, Bourne End, High Wycombe, Maidenhead, Windsor, Cookham and Slough.
It took months to find the perfect location, which includes a specially designed Day Care suite for napping and time out, a safe outdoor yard and 2 acres of secure private Paddocks so you can leave your dog with us knowing they really are in the safest and securest environment.
Our focus in day care, is providing your pet with what he or she needs, to ensure they are happy, well socialised and content, but in the safety of our private land. When you arrive to collect them they would have had a very full day and will come home ready for a calm evening in their own home. So you can enjoy the best of your dog and not return to a hyperactive, demanding and potentially stressed animal.
In order to achieve this, we have chosen a premises that focuses on outside play space as we believe that dogs need the stimulation of outdoor play, to run, sniff, jump and feel the wind in thier ears, but in a safe and secure environment.
Fireside Friends Home Boarding & Pet Service is run by Kim Foster.

I run a very personal bed and biscuit business for small dogs at Laura's Little Lodgers with the aim of giving all my little visitors as much love and attention as they would receive when they are at home with their owners.
I dog sit small dogs in my home and all my four legged little guests have free run of my house and totally enclosed back garden and they are allowed to sleep wherever their owner requests - which is usually with me!
After being contacted by a prospective new dog's owners who would like me to dog board their pet, I invite them and their dog round for an initial visit, in order to see that we all get on and their dog likes the look of their dog holiday home and I then complete a booking form with them noting all their pet's special requirements. If their dog is then booked in for dog minding for longer than an overnight stay on the first visit, I tend to have their pet to stay for 24 hours, so that the dog is more relaxed on its longer follow up stay.
If another owner's dog is booked to stay during any visit, I always get permission from all my owners that it is okay for their dog to mix and have found this very popular in order to help dogs become more socialised.
I am with every pet that comes to stay at my little dog lodgings on a 24 hour basis, but I also seek to get agreement from an owner that if I do go out socially if a dog comes to stay on a long visit, I have their permission to take their dog with me, whether it be to visit my local hostelry/restaurant or to see family and friends.
I stay in touch with owners while they are away either by email or sms and regularly send photos I have taken of their dog and all owners are encouraged to call me at any time to check on their pet. I have a Facebook page called Laura's Little Lodgers promoting my dog minding business and this provides all owners that are on the social network with a way in which to see their dog's up to date antics on a regular basis, which has been a wonderful asset to my dog boarding business.
I really love looking after all my little dog lodgers and have formed some very special relationships, not only with the dogs, but also with their owners and that for me is the whole ethos behind Laura's Little Lodgers dog minding service.
It is my personal view that home from home dog boarding really is the preferred option to kennels and I have dogs coming to stay with me from local towns and villages such as Marlow, Bourne End, Cookham, Beaconsfield, Stoke Poges, Gerrards Cross, The Chalfonts, Maidenhead, Bray, Burnham, Slough and also parts of London and have also had dogs come to stay from further afield such as Lancaster, Southampton and, even recently, from across the Channel in France!
Given the choice of a warm, cosy house or dog boarding kennels, which would your dog choose?
Not all dogs enjoy a stay at boarding kennels, in fact, some dogs may even find the experience quite stressful, leaving them anxious and depressed.
Mind Your Paws has a team of friendly, experienced pet sitters that offer one-on-one dog boarding in the comfort of the sitters homes.
All of our home-boarding sitters are licensed, fully insured, police checked, character reference checked and truly lovely people. When you book our dog boarding service, our professional pet sitters will look after your dogs as if they were their own. While you are away, they will enjoy a welcoming home-from-home environment, routine daily walks and oodle’s of love and affection.
Naturally you can take her favourite toys, treats, food, bedding and whatever else she needs to make her stay as fab as possible.
Mind Your Paws offer very competitive rates, so why not give Lou a call today on 01296 330126 to discuss your requirements and receive a quote at the same time.
Our pet boarding service is your pet’s home from home pet care solution. Our approach is simple, your dog stays in a home with one of our approved families, as part of that family. Your dog isn’t left in dog boarding kennels where they are away from familiar smells and surroundings and from their routine. Our pet boarding service creates less stress and anxiety for you and your pet.
Unlike some other organisations where you have no direct contact or choice where your pet will be staying, we encourage you to visit our approved host families when considering the service so that you can see first hand where your dog will stay and be cared for. All pet boarding homes are fully vetted and insured, your dog will also be treated as one of the family with all the love and affection you would expect. Our pet boarding service allows your pets routine to be catered for along with individual requirements such as dispensing of any medications. This is unlike boarding kennels and catteries that have very set routines. What’s more, petting is included, unlike kennels where it is often charged as an extra!
Our approved pet boarders are all experienced and trained to provide the best possible care and attention that your pet is used to in their own home. You will be more relaxed and enjoy your time away from home, safe in the knowledge that your dog is being cared for.
Leave your dog in safe hands in the care and warmth of a home environment, Petpals Dog Boarding service.

Puppy Dog Hotel™ is within easy reach of the M25, M1, M40, A1 and A40. We are located at the end of the London Underground Metropolitan Line and the Chiltern Line. We are happy to collect and return clients to Chesham or Amersham stations by prior arrangement. We offer a nationwide collection and return service for your Dog or Puppy once we have all met at least once. It is our aim to treat your Dog or Puppy as if it were our own pet and give it the love, care and respect you would; it will stay with us in our family home and become part of our family. We do NOT have any kennels at the Puppy Dog Hotel.
Research shows that many Dogs experience distress at being kennelled for a large part of the day. This can lead to continuous barking, clawing at the ground or the kennel and accompanied by depression. Depression can lead to a low immune system which in turn leaves the Dog open to various infections such as Kennel Cough. Another problem many kennel owners face is spacing their time amongst the Dogs in their care. Because we only ever have a limited number of Dogs and Puppies staying in our home we spend a large amount of time with them.
We provide a ‘home from home’ boarding service for your beloved dogs, in our own home or the home of one of our host families.
We ask you to provide all your dogs’ own comforts; bed, lead, toys, bowls, food, treats, brush, medication (if applicable), to make your dog feel as at home as possible. We will provide walks, playtime, fuss, attention and a loving home!
For your peace of mind, we can send you regular updates of your pet via SMS, email or on Facebook!
We insist on a pre-boarding visit for you to meet the host who will be looking after your dog and to see the premises where he/she will be staying, to make sure all parties are happy with the booking.
Please contact us directly for availability, prices and our booking and cancellation policy.
*All dogs must be fully inoculated and be treated for fleas and worms in advance.
